Who we are
Founded in 1992 Insight Associates is well known as a professional accountancy firm with a difference!
Our area of expertise lies in the development, implementation and continuous delivery of high quality, meaningful financial and accounting information to aid the decision making of our clients. This information, together with our hands on commercially focussed support, is interpreted and presented to our clients to use as a successful management tool to accelerate the growth and profitability of their business.
Insight Associates take responsibility for all aspects of financial management and accounting from experienced Finance Director input, through to cash flow monitoring, credit control, monthly management accounts, payroll, VAT returns, statutory accounts & compliance, funding & business planning.
Our team of professionals have significant experience within the commercial sector and understand the huge benefits that a qualified hands-on accounts team can bring to every industry.
Garry Mumford FCCA - Director
Garry is a highly experienced finance manager/director and one of the founding partners of Insight Associates, in 1992. He has held a number of senior financial roles in a variety of organisations, including Finance Directorships in both independent and family owned businesses.
Garry is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), member of the Institute of Directors, and a long standing Director of the Turnaround Management Association in the UK.
He has significant experience in change management, turnarounds, systems development and implementation, company acquisitions and disposals, as well as being a skilled facilitator in strategic planning and development situations.
Garry is of course part of both the client delivery team and the office support team - with overall responsibility for marketing, business development and driving the business forward.
In his spare time Garry is passionate about the Talyllyn Railway - the first railway in the world to be preserved by volunteers, where he is treasurer/accountant and board member.
Simon Hammond BA FCCA - Associate Director, Client Services.
Simon joined Insight Associates client delivery team from Plymouth University in 2003 having gained a "high achiever" Degree in Accounting and Finance. He is also qualified with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
For over a decade Simon has worked closely with clients from a wide variety of industries to ensure their daily financial management and accounting needs are met. Operating to regular deadlines and timescales he is held in high regard by them, gaining many accolades from clients as a trusted and valued member of their in-house teams.
In his spare time he is a doting father who is keen on sport and socialising and enjoys a good pub quiz.
Shirley Hoy – Associate Director, Development and Support.
Shirley joined the Insight Associates office support team in March 2003. She has a wealth of marketing and administration experience across a wide variety of commercial environments.
As a creative thinker and administrator she is responsible for the implementation of Insight Associates marketing strategy including social media, copy writing, websites, networking and exhibitions. She is also responsible for managing all support and back office functions and keeps up her accouting skills by looking after Insight Associates Accounts.
In her spare time she enjoys travel, photography and cooking and recently passed her motorcycle CBT test!
Cara Taylor - Finance Manager
Cara joined Insight Associates in 2011 with a wealth of experience gained in both the private and public sector. She is a confident, persistent and reliable individual who likes to complete tasks and resolve problems and is an integral part of the client delivery team.
She has received strong recommendations from clients and has vast knowledge of their internal systems and processes which has been instrumental in the continuous improvement of our service offering.
Her AAT qualifications were gained at Chelmsford College and she has completed a National Diploma in Business.
In her spare time Cara continues her studies and is a keen fitness fanatic who is often found working out at her local gym.
Amy Bridger - Administrator
Amy joined the Insight Team in 2014 with a wealth of Customer Service experience gained during her time at Welcome Break. She is a skilled administrator and provides vital support to both the client delivery and back office teams. Naturally friendly and welcoming she soon puts Insights guests at their ease when visiting or calling our offices. She is a familiar voice on the end of the telephone to both our clients and their clients alike resolving queries and coordinating systems. She enjoys being organised and keeps us all on our toes. Outside of work Amy enjoys socialising with friends and going to the gym.
Natasha Walman - Administrator
Natasha joined the Insight Team in 2016 and her positive attitude and keen mind is sure to stand her in good stead for a bright future with us. She has a wealth of customer service experience gained primarily in the leisure sector and has some finance sector knowledge too. In her brief time with us she has become an invaluable member of the team and is already confidently resolving client queries. She is keen to excel in her Administrator role and looks forward to continuing to work as as a valued part of the client delivery and office support teams.
Outside of work Natasha enjoys socialising with friends and is an avid Game of Thrones fan with some fabulous theories on the story lines!
Aaron Edrington - Finance Assistant
Aaron joined Insight Associates in July 2016 and his keen analytical mind is demonstrating positive results for the client delivery team.
He graduated from Brunel with a Finance and Accounting degree and Aaron has already gained significant finance and customer service experience working in the Charity sector in London.
Outside of work his varied interests include football, gaming and cars (he's the proud owner of a Toyota GT86) and his gap year travels took him to Australia for 3 months.
His feet are now firmly on Insight ground as he looks forward to working with our clients and starting his CIMA studies.
